Radar products are deeply integrated into thousands of industries with strong sensing capabilities and innovative applications. At the 11th World Radar Expo 2025, which opened on May 17, the reporter learned from China Electric Technology that from the civil aviation and meteorological fields that ensure sky safety to the smart agriculture rooted in the earth, the radar products developed by China Electric Technology are empowering thousands of industries and injecting a steady stream of "radar wisdom" into the development of various industries.
The wisdom "giant eye" of spaceflight chasing dreams
It may seem impossible to observe a candle 100 kilometers away with the naked eye, but radar can capture the "every move" of tiny electrons in distant space.
According to the staff, the three-station incoherent scattering radar developed by China Electronics Technology is like a super-large "microscope", which can analyze and amplify weak scattering signals, and the detection accuracy and sensitivity reach the international leading level.
In the black barrier area that the return capsule passes through before each landing, there is also a "smart eye" that can continuously track and measure the return vehicle to achieve the tracking and positioning of the target. The radio wave radar developed by China Electronics Technology can actively transmit signals, receive the echo signal of the aircraft, and continuously track and measure the return vehicle. "Keep an eye on" the "invisible" return capsule in the black barrier area to prevent it from deviating from the predetermined landing area.
The "Guardian" of the Field
Pests and diseases are the enemy of agricultural production, and traditional pest monitoring mainly relies on manual field inspections. The high-resolution multi-band full-polarization insect detection radar jointly developed by China Electric Technology has improved the efficiency of agricultural pest control.
The staff introduced that the insect-penetrating radar is like a "golden eye" and a "smart mind". Through the data processing of the detection and tracking results, the measurement of the wing frequency, body length, weight, radar cross section, and head orientation of harmful insects can be achieved. The radar has obtained scientific observation data of migrating insects for more than three years, providing key data support for the study of aerial migration laws and population structure characteristics of agricultural pests.
From aerospace, transportation, weather monitoring to smart agriculture, radar technology is empowering e****mic and social development in diverse and critical ways, not only improving safety and convenience, but also building a smarter production and lifestyle.
